Start Times

Currently our online programs follow the same schedule as our on-campus offerings. Each term is generally 15 weeks in length with courses being offered in the summer, fall and spring.

Online students at the University of Pittsburgh have access to the same library resources as our on-campus students. The mission of the university library system is to provide access to information and resources necessary for academic achievement. We are committed to excellence in service to our user community.

The University of Pittsburgh libraries and collections provide a wealth of information and services to the faculty, students, staff, administrators, and researchers of the University. Our collection of electronic resources is growing rapidly and now includes thousands of databases, over 25,000 electronic journal titles, and over 170,000 electronic books.

Other University of Pittsburgh libraries include the Barco Law Library and the Health Sciences Library System.

Pitt Online students are provided with 24/7 technical support to ensure anytime, anywhere access to your online course.

Additionally, online students will be provided a wide range of computing resources, including a University computing and e-mail account, which will be used for all course communication.

Financial Assistance

The University of Pittsburgh's Financial Aid Office is committed to assisting students and families with the process of applying for and receiving financial aid. Depending on the program, there a a variety of financial aid options available to those pursuing online graduate degrees. Students can receive loans, grants or scholarships if they're eligible, and they can find all necessary financial aid application forms online. The Financial Aid Office's experienced staff is available during their office hours of 9:00 to 4:30 Monday through Friday to assist you with your financial aid questions and requests. You can reach them over the phone or visit their office for a walk-in visit (no appointments are necessary). The staff will do all they can to get you the maximum amount of funds for which you are eligible.
