The Virtual College works in partnership with the Fort Hays State University faculty members to market and distribute 500 course offerings to students throughout the world. The Virtual College provides FHSU distance education opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing affordable excellence in undergraduate and masters degree programs. Fort Hays State University's Virtual College is committed to advancing its distance learning offerings. Faculty members who teach the courses offered through the Virtual College are the same highly credentialed, full-time faculty members as those teaching courses on campus. Many faculty members hold doctorates or terminal degrees in their respective fields. Some undergraduate courses may be taught by graduate teaching assistants or qualified adjunct faculty members under the supervision of doctorate-holding faculty. FHSU prides itself on a 17-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio.
The Virtual College delivers distance learning course work through asynchronous and synchronous modes. Asynchronous delivery (anytime/any place) includes: the Internet, DVD, and CD-ROMs. Synchronous delivery (same time/different locations) includes: interactive television (ITV), face-to-face, desktop videoconferencing, and specially arranged delivery.

Fort Hays State University aims to make their already affordable tuition rates even more available by assisting students find a variety of forms of financial assistance. Many online students can benefit from scholarships offered both by the school and by outside sources. FHSU has online scholarship application that allows you to apply for all of their scholarship options at the same time, and they will also assist you in finding outside scholarships if need be. You can also qualify for student grants and/or loans from the student government or receive special Veteran's benefits if you're eligible. All important financial aid application forms are available online, and you can always contact FHSU's Financial Assistance Office if you have any questions or concerns.
